Rapunzel's Revenge
Rapunzel's Revenge By Hale, Shannon (Book - 2008)

Annotation:Highly recommend to any age group this is a delightful reimagining of Rapunzel's fairy tale into something thats a whole lot of fun. The goose alone is a charming addition to the cast and the artwork is really well matched to the story.

Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind 1 By Miyazaki, Hayao (Book - 2004)

Annotation:A classic comic by a master storyteller Nausicaa delves into concepts of loyalty, politics, environmentalism and accountability through wonderful characters, complex situations, and lots of adventure and excitement. May be a bit complex for younger readers and definately not to be written off as fluff.

Fruits Basket
Fruits Basket Volume 1 By Takaya, Natsuki (Book - 2004)

Annotation:I picked up on this series early after its initial english release and followed it lovingly until its finally 23rd volume was released years later in 2009. Its wonderful in this series to watch not only the characters grow up, but to see Takaya's artwork progress as well. Some later volumes may take a re-read as the panel layouts aren't always intuitive but I think the characters and the humanity they learn are well worth the dedication. The series manages to tackle some very serious concepts and relationships while still managing to be lightharded and portraying some wonderfully relatable characters. The innate sense of humour and absurdity that is everpresent can have you laughing and crying at the same time. Wouldn't recommend to younger readers without having a parent willing to read or discuss it with them but definately a suggested read.

Y, the Last Man
Y, the Last Man Book 1 Unmanned By Vaughan, Brian K. (Book - 2003)

Annotation:Definately not a series for young or immature readers this comic contains some very dark and explicit content. However it also has a stunning amount of humour, strong characters, and some very poignant scenes.
